Colour Therapy for Interior Design Diploma
This course gives you a deeper understanding of how colour affects interior space and our moods and behaviour. On completion you will be able to work as a specialist colour consultant in the interior, design or fashion industries.
Colour theory usually makes up a small part of an Interior Design course and if often only focused on basic scientific principles. This colour therapeutics is based on a holistic approach that uses colour psychology and colour therapy to help you select the right colours and schemes for the home and workplace, thus creating a more relaxing and harmonious interior environment. Awareness of how colour affects our moods, physical health and behaviour is growing fast making this an essential field for the future. The mood-enhancing qualities of colour are being used in businesses, retail outlets as well as schools, hospitals and other community buildings that wish to create healing and supportive environment, so a knowledge of colour therapeutics is a great career asset.
As well as designers, psychologists and complementary practitioners who would like to use colour to create a healing environment, colour therapeutics would be of interest to anyone working in the fashion and creative arts or design, as it tries to extend the awareness of the power of colour to influence our moods and health. This course encourages professionals to use colour more responsibly.

Part 2.
Lesson 7. Therapeutic colours for Entrances and Livingrooms
Lesson 8. Colours for Dining rooms and Kitchens
Lesson 9. Harmonious colours for Bedrooms and bathrooms
Lesson 10. Children’s’ rooms: from infants to teenagers
Lesson 11. Colours in the workplace and company colours
Lesson 12. Colours in the community including colours for the elderly
An Iris International Diploma will be awarded to those students obtaining 70% or more in the Module tests and self-administered examination which includes a project using colours therapeutically. Successful students are entitled to use the initials Dip. Iris (Col. Th.) (Please note the the Holistic Design Institute offers an Advanced Level option for professionals.}
The HOLISTIC DESIGN INSTITUTE also offers an advanced level version of this course for those with experience working with colour and design in art, fashion, graphics, advertising or interiors. ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
Students should be over 21 years of age to allow for life experience.
For students wanting to start a new career. You should have a good understanding of written and spoken English and good creative skills.
